Douglas Projects Cookout on 125th: A Vibe You Had to Be There For

Labor Day weekend on 125th Street was something special. I knew about the Douglas Projects cookout on the pier, and I decided to pass by because my shorty was there. When I got there, the energy was incredible. It was one of those moments that reminded me why I do what I do.

I saw so many faces I knew from back in the day, and their reactions were priceless. The shock, the smiles, and the hugs—it felt like a family reunion. The love was real. A lot of people came up to me, some just surprised to see me, others giving me props for everything I’ve been doing. It’s moments like that that ground you and remind you of where you came from.

I could see others on the sidelines, whispering and wondering who I was. And yeah, I saw the haters too. They were there, wondering why I still get so much love. But the truth is, the love and support from my people will always outweigh any negativity. That’s a vibe you can’t fake.

To everyone who came up to me, shared a moment, and showed love, thank you. You are the reason I keep going. This weekend was a huge reminder that the connection with my community is the most important thing. I appreciate every single one of you.

Stay tuned for what's next. You already know it's going to be something special.
